Salsa de Chile de Arbol
Description

This is a great salsa using the whole chiles. When combined with the toasted tomatillos, you get a wonderful fresh tasting salsa.

This recipe uses the following products:
Chile de Arbol - Whole 2 oz.

 

  • 8-10 Los Chileros Chiles de Arbol
  • 12-15 tomatillos, remove husks & rinse
  • 3 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water
Methods/steps

In a heavy frying pan or comal, toast tomatillos until slightly charred; (approximately 10 minutes). Set aside. Lower heat and toast chiles de arbol turning them around every few seconds. Be careful, they burn easily. Combine ingredients in a blender and blend to desired consistency. The thicker the better, about 7 seconds. Makes a great table sauce.

Esta es una gran salsa usando los chiles enteros. Cuando se combina con tomatillos tostados, da un sabor muy especial a esta riquisima y picante salsa.

 

  • 8 - 10 Chiles de Arbol
  • 12 - 15 tomatillos limpios
  • 1/2 cucharadita de sal
  • 1/2 taza de agua
  • 3 dientes de ajo

En un comal tueste los tomatillos (aproximadamente 10 minutos). Dejelos a un lado. Baje la temperatura y tueste los Chiles de Arbol, volteandos constantemente ya que son faciles de quemarse. Lique todos los ingredientes hasta alcanzar la consistencia deseada. Es una gran salsa de mesa.
